Ms. Meher Moqbula (1955) is the principle of Syeda Anjuman Ara girl’s school. She has completed her SSC from Motijhil Central Government Girls High School in 1972. Her HSC was completed in the year 1974 from Dhaka Government Girls College (now Badrunessa Government Girls College) Boxhibazar. Later, she had the privileged of being a student of the department of social welfare, at the University of Dhaka, and accomplished her Honors and Master degrees in 1977 and 1978 respectively in the same field.
After completing her education Ms. Moqbula has joined Khilgaon Model University College as a Lecturer of social welfare in 1981. The college was established in 1970 and inaugurated by Bangabandhu Shaikh Mujibur Rahman. In the process of career development in Khilgaon Model University College Ms. Moqbula attended and accomplished various seminars and training programs.
To mention a few:
Training program on the use of a teaching resource book named population problem and family planning programs in Bangladesh organized by the institute of social welfare and research, University of Dhaka;
20 th Rover Scout group president course at Rover scout training institute Gazipur;
Master trainer program on HIV and AID’S organized by Save the Children.
Later, she became the Assistant Professor and was then promoted to the post of Associate Professor. Beside lecturing she acted as the exam controller and shift in-charge if the institution. She has also played the role of Principle in-charge at Khilgaon Model University College and retired in 2015.
Ms. Moqbula has worked actively in various social developmental organizations for the purpose of ensuring human rights and basic needs of individuals. She has been a member of the management committee of Khilgaon Government Primary School. One of her best social contribution is working for the Bangladesh Mohila Porishad right from the days of its inception. She was also the Vice President of Bangladesh College University Teachers Association. Ms. Moqbula is a founding member of Bangladesh Association for Women Self Empowerment (BAWSE) a non government organization working for women empowerment in the country.
Currently, she is one of the board directors of Polli Biddut Shomity-1, Kumilla, her home town. Moreover, she is an active member of the management committee of Bashbari High School, Gazipur.
